Firstly YouTube is the second most used search engine in the world after Google so if you don’t have a presence on there, then you are missing a huge audience. Once you have created a channel you can also add links back to your website from the channel and also every video you make by stating that the full transcript is on your site. This in turn will draw more traffic to your site as sometimes people will find your video and would prefer to read an article rather than watch, for example when they are at work or perhaps someone would rather save it to read later on the tube where phone signal isn’t that great.
Google also ranks your sites based on your social media presence. It may not be a massive SEO boost but every little helps.

Many new TVs feature some sort of YouTube App functionality, whether it be the TV running Android OS or the person owns a device such as an Apple TV or an NVidia Shield. This is changing the way we watch TV. I personally find a lot of terrestrial TV in the UK is mind numbingly boring so I often go on the YouTube app where there are infinite recommendations of interesting things from YouTube and also every channel i subscribe to.

In our modern society many people live busy lives and will often choose watching a video over reading especially if you’re a slow reader. Reading can sometimes be tiring and often before bed i’ve had enough of sitting in front of the computer reading articles but i am quite happy to let someone else dictate to me.

The old saying goes that “A picture speaks a thousand words” and this is so true. This is reinforced by the fact that showing someone step by step how to do something is often more clear than dictating how to do it with a few pictures.

Many people who run a blog also feature AdSense or some kind of adverts. If you do not already have your blog on YouTube then you are missing out on additional revenue generated from featuring AdSense adverts on your videos.
